Web site design

After you've decided on which business model to pursue you're going to either have to design your website or have your website designed for you. This isn't as difficult or as complicated as you may think. When it comes to designing / creating your website you basically have three options.

1) You can completely design it yourself

2) You can pay to have somebody else completely design the whole thing

3) You can find some middle ground.

All three options are really totally doable and we're going to explain how you might go about each in detail.

Designing your website by yourself

The good news is, if you can use Microsoft Word, you can pretty much design your own website. There are software programs out there that make it incredibly easy to make your own web page. The most popular among these is FrontPage.

It's another Microsoft product and is very usable. As a matter of fact, the first website I ever launched was designed using FrontPage. It's like $199 but considering how much you'll use it that not bad at all. Remember, after you launch your first online business you can always launch a second, and third site and even more. If you spend $199 on FrontPage but use it to build 3 sites your cost per site only $66.33.

It also comes with a great user manual that should tell you everything you need to know to create a website using FrontPage. You can also get an excellent how-to book on the subject called Learn Microsoft FrontPage for $19.95. Considering how much additional info is in it, it's probably worth the additional purchase price.

There are other software packages you can use in addition to FrontPage including Homesite and Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver is more expensive but also a slightly better product.

Pay to have somebody completely design your site. This can be an expensive proposition but can also not be as expensive as you might think. You can have someone design a basic website for a few hundred dollars. The key is to have them make it FrontPage compatible so that you can connect and make changes.

If you're looking for a really slick looking site, this may be the way to go. You can have a professional web designer create the basic look of your site then you can just login with FrontPage and make changes as needed.

If creating your own website using FrontPage is easy, then having a web designer create one for you and just using FrontPage to edit it is uber easy.
